A LEGEND LOST - FRANK HESELTINE
29th June 2024
The club were devestated to hear the news yesterday of the passing of legendary non-league supporter Frank Heseltine.
The tributes already paid are testament to the reach that Frank had through local football as his famously colourful, homemade matchday outfits made him easy to spot when cheering on one of his Black Country favourites, often from cage side at Queen Street.
We were, of course, extremely grateful that the Steelmen were a true love of Frank and we are sure he often aided our teams to many a point with his support of the boys in orange while his touchline sprints often outpaced many a back tracking opposition defence while impressing those around him with his pace!
His support was acknowledged by Staffordshire FA back in 2019 when he was presented with the supporter of the year award at his beloved Queen Street where some of us saw Frank in normal street wear for the first time!
We join Darlo, Willenhall, Wednesfield and many others throughout the grassroots game in mourning a true legend of the game and will obviously pay tribute during the upcoming season to a man that none of us will ever forget.
RIP Frank - a true legend.
